Similarly, the first single from Gazelle’s upcoming album, titled “Goeiemore Suid Afrika” and featuring Afrikaans pop band, Die Heuwels Fantasties, is a reflection on the opposites that make up our beautiful and abundant country. His comeback collaboration featuring Bouwer Bosch and Freddy L called “Liefde Love Uthando” championed euphoric melodies and was a powerful blend of English, Afrikaans and Zulu lyricism, exploring what it means to share in culture and in love. He could never have predicted that at the beginning of March 2020 the world would shut down and he’d be stuck in South Africa for a year. Gazelle (real name Xander Ferreira) returned to South Africa at the beginning of February 2020, after years of living and learning and performing in New York, with the sole intention of making an album that now goes by the working title of From Limpopo with Love.
